For many clients of Volunteer Lawyers for Justice’s PRIDE Name Change Program, a legal name change is more than paperwork, it’s an act of reclamation, dignity, and survival. As a client recently shared, the journey to a more inclusive state like New Jersey can still feel overwhelming without the right support.
“Honestly everything was so helpful. I have been really overwhelmed by this process, and everyone who helped me has truly been a blessing. Y’all made this process so painless. I moved to NJ after leaving Florida when it became progressively more unsafe for queer people. Everyone I interacted with from this organization was so helpful and knowledgeable.
