Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ) is driven by a powerful mission: partnering with volunteers, we deliver free civil legal help that protects rights, expands opportunity, drives economic mobility, and strengthens communities.

We know civil legal services are a catalyst for transformative change, capable of unlocking economic stability, opportunity, and brighter futures for families at risk of eviction, veterans burdened by debt, survivors of human trafficking, and others in need. Since 2001, VLJ has stood as a pillar of racial, social, and economic justice and a pro bono leader—ensuring no one is denied their rights simply because they cannot afford an attorney.

VLJ is a collective force of passionate volunteers and staff committed to addressing the urgent civil legal needs of people across New Jersey. But free legal services are not free to coordinate, and to make a real impact, we need the support of partners like you.
