Celebrate 25 Years of VLJ
Celebrating our 25th anniversary in 2026, Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ) has become a premier statewide pro bono organization helping thousands of individuals and families navigate civil legal issues each year.
Since 2001, VLJ has handled more than 17,400 legal cases impacting over 38,000 neighbors and community members across New Jersey and beyond. This record-breaking level of service was made possible by its experienced staff and more than 2,500 committed attorney and non-attorney volunteers who donated 87,656 hours of service (equivalent to nearly 10 years) valued at $30.9 million. This powerful pro bono partnership means more New Jerseyans experiencing poverty have an attorney by their side, keeping families safely and stably housed, supporting survivors of human trafficking, and serving those who served in the United States Military.
We hope you will join the celebration and support our mission delivering free civil legal help that protects rights, expands opportunity, drives economic mobility, and strengthens communities.
