Volunteer Lawyers for Justice Announces
New Board Trustees

NEWARK, NJ — Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ) announces the addition of four new members to its Board of Trustees:

Craig Dashiell, a partner at Lowenstein Sandler LLP, focuses his practice on resolving financial disputes covering a wide range of matters, including class actions, breach of contract disputes, bankruptcies, and business divorce. Active in the firm's pro bono program, Craig was a member of the team that negotiated a significant settlement in a class action on behalf of more than 700 young immigrants, challenging the U.S. government’s illegal policy of disqualifying 18- to 21-year-olds from Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. He has also obtained asylum for clients from Honduras and Syria, advocated for victims of domestic violence and detainees in the penal system, and advised charter schools on their internal practices. In addition, Craig is a co-founder of the firm's Diversity Leadership Network, a growing employee resource group focused on recruiting and supporting diverse attorneys.

Jennifer Eppensteiner is Counsel in Reed Smith LLP’s Life Sciences Health Industry Group, based in the firm’s Princeton, New Jersey office. Jennifer defends pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer healthcare companies in mass tort litigations involving personal injury claims in state and federal courts across the United States. Jennifer also maintains an active pro bono practice, and has volunteered for VLJ's ReLeSe (Reentry Legal Services) Program for several years.

Naju R. Lathia is a former prosecutor and a partner in the New Jersey office of Day Pitney LLP, assisting clients with a broad spectrum of areas, from litigating complex commercial and employment matters in state and federal court to conducting sensitive internal and white-collar investigations. She is co-chair of Day Pitney’s Data Privacy, Protection and Litigation practice group and the co-chair of the Law Partners section of the South Asian Bar Association of North America.

Jodi Moskowitz is the Vice President Regulatory–Law, Deputy General Counsel and RTO Strategy Officer for PSEG. In this role, she leads the federal energy regulatory function, which provides legal and policy support on matters before FERC, DOE, other federal agencies and the federal appellate courts. Additionally, Jodi has responsibility for all activities involving the regional grid operator PJM Interconnection, LLC (PJM), including rules-shaping and coalition-building activities. Finally, she is accountable for PSEG's centralized NERC Reliability Standards compliance organization. In 2024, Jodi received the Executive Women of NJ Salute to the Policymakers Award; she is also a former recipient of the YWCA Tribute to Women of Influence Award.

With the addition of Craig, Jennifer, Naju, and Jodi to its board, VLJ extends its deepest gratitude to outgoing members Michael Hyun (PSEG), Jessica Hodkinson (Panasonic Corporation of North America), Nicholas Insua (Reed Smith LLP), Maritza Rodríguez (Rodríguez Law LLC), and Jeffrey Shapiro (Lowenstein Sandler LLP) for their many years of invaluable stewardship and service.

Cathy Keenan, VLJ’s Executive Director, offered, “As we welcome our four newest trustees to the board—Craig Dashiell, Jennifer Eppensteiner, Naju R. Lathia, and Jodi Moskowitz—I am struck by the incredible wealth of talent, passion, and fresh perspective they bring to Volunteer Lawyers for Justice. Their commitment to our mission ensures we will remain a responsive, forward-looking organization ready and willing to meet the growing civil legal needs across New Jersey in the years ahead.

At the same time, this transition is a deeply bittersweet moment for us. While we are energized by this new chapter, it is difficult to say goodbye to our outgoing trustees, Michael Hyun, Jessica Hodkinson, Nicholas Insua, Maritza Rodríguez, and Jeffrey Shapiro whose compassionate leadership and wisdom have played a major role in VLJ’s success. We are profoundly grateful for their time, talent, and the lasting legacy they leave behind; they will always be a part of the VLJ community."
