VLJ National Volunteer Month 2026 Spotlight: Wojciech Jung

Over the past 25 years, Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ) has built a powerful community of volunteers who generously give their time and talent to ensure access to justice. With April being National Volunteer Month, we’re putting the spotlight on a few of those incredible volunteers.

Starting off right, VLJ recognizes Wojciech Jung, a partner at Womble Bond Dickinson LLP. Wojciech volunteers with our Debt Relief Legal Program and had this to say:

“I volunteer with VLJ because I have seen firsthand the meaningful impact pro bono legal services can have on individuals who truly need them. Pro bono legal guidance—particularly in bankruptcy matters—can give people a genuine second chance and ensure that they are afforded the benefits and opportunities provided by law. Helping individuals obtain a fresh financial start is incredibly meaningful, especially when that support can change the trajectory of their lives and restore a sense of hope and stability.

Financial hardship affects many individuals, often without fault. Ensuring access to justice means making sure that financial constraints are not a barrier to the exercise of legal rights and the help they need. Providing pro bono services to individuals experiencing poverty gives them a path out of financial despair and an opportunity to rebuild. Everyone deserves a second chance to regain financial stability, and attorneys play a critical role in guiding people through complex legal processes that would otherwise be out of reach.

Volunteering with VLJ reinforces the responsibility attorneys have to use their know-how to support those who cannot afford legal services. This work benefits not only individual clients but society as a whole by promoting fairness and economic security, in addition to assisting courts in a more efficient administration of cases. On a personal level, it is deeply rewarding to know that my efforts can make a tangible difference in someone’s life, whether by easing financial stress or helping them move forward with renewed confidence and dignity.”

We are immensely grateful for volunteers like Wojciech who use the power of pro bono to realize a kinder, more just New Jersey. During National Volunteer Month, we invite you to renew your commitment to pro bono. Whether you’re a long-time volunteer or looking to take your first case, there is a place for you at VLJ.
