How We Do Justice Matters - Getting a Veteran Back on the Road

Rooted in the belief that justice is a right, not a privilege, Volunteer Lawyers for Justice envisions a New Jersey where people experiencing poverty have equal access to justice. That vision is brought to life in partnership with volunteers who deliver free civil legal help that protects rights, expands opportunity, drives economic mobility, and strengthens communities.

Thanks to VLJ volunteer Chris Vanderwolk, a veteran client is back on the road with stable employment and brighter prospects. The client had this to say:

“I just want to thank VLJ, Christopher Vanderwolk, and everyone who has assisted me along the way. You guys have been so kind and pleasant. I feel so great and truly appreciative. Restoring my driver's license has been incredible not only just for my self-esteem but for my livelihood. I am a transport specialist and I assist those with mental health issues. I was not able to get to my clients and with this hurdle with my license, it affected because my job is reliant upon my driver's license and being able to get to and from and through this whole process with restoring my driver's license I have been keeping the job I work for updated on the process and I finally was able to let them know that my driver's license matter was resolved. I am now keeping my job and I am just so appreciative of VLJ! Thank you!”

Thank you, Chris, for compassionately serving those who served!

Because how we do justice matters.
