This training is designed to serve as a primer for attorneys interested in representing students in pro bono special education matters.  It is geared towards attorneys who have little to no experience in this area of law.

Topics include:

  • ·        The Right to a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)
  • ·        Educational Evaluations
  • ·        Overview of Individualized Education Programs(IEPs)
  • ·        Due Process Complaints and Hearings
  • ·        Remedies
