Disaster Legal Response Program (DLRP)
DLRP currently coordinates free walk-in legal clinics at 3 locations in New Jersey. The clinics are open to ALL VICTIMS of Hurricane Sandy, regardless of financial status. You must have a legal issue STEMMING from Hurricane Sandy to be eligible for this program. Volunteer attorneys provide advice and brief service at the clinics. Clients requiring further legal assistance are screened for financial eligibility. VLJ works to locate volunteer attorneys who will accept eligible clients for full representation. If you are unable to attend a legal clinic due to distance or a disability, please call our toll-free Hurricane Sandy Hotline at 855-301-2525 for screening.
Where and when: We have clinics located in five New Jersey counties, see location and details below:
What to bring: All relevant documents, including insurance policies, letters, photos, contracts, etc.
How long will I be there: Appointments are generally 30 minutes each, but you could be there for a couple of hours depending on the number of clients. Plan accordingly.
